Is this a new process, a search on Google and see what you can find information about him. You see, when you get unsolocited testimonies of those who have undergone surgery. Let's see if it's worth it. The doctor may try to use the process only because it is new advance. Get further medical care. The knee replacement surgery is serious and you need to be hard to recover and the necessary rehabilitation measures to ensure that it works. When the artificial cartilage is a real alternative to it before, which makes the replacement. Make sure that no serious side effects affecting cartlidge replacement procedures.

There are few products that are used as a form of artificial cartilage that can be injected directly into the knee joint. The most common brand is called Synvisc. You can Google if you want to read their promotional literature.

However, this is a temporary effect .... usually takes about 6 months, is required at which time another injection. It is expensive ... usually $ 300-600 per injection on and are not covered by universal health insurance in Germany. I do not know if it will be covered by health insurance for your parents, so that you can check.

It is an "alternative" to the knee surgery, but it can help you save time and delay surgery on the knee. Over time, you probably will need surgery.
